Family owned in Riverside, Wyoming
From Food Truck Smoke To A Full Pit Concept
The Pit started as a food truck with a smoker, a stubborn dream, and a family willing to build around both. Today, it is a full Riverside BBQ concept with Texas-style smoke, Wyoming grit, and a table for the community.

Meet the people behind the smoke
A family restaurant with road miles in the story.
David is a veteran whose work has stretched from international finance to bartending, managing restaurants, and learning barbecue in Texas. He even spent time around the Oklahoma City Thunder organization before the road eventually brought him and his family back toward the mountains.
Kristin grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and has been in kitchens and hospitality since she was old enough to stand at a counter. Her family roots reach back to Saratoga, and after more than five years in the valley, Riverside feels like home in the way that matters.
The Road To Riverside
First fire
The food truck
The first version of The Pit was mobile, scrappy, and smoke-first. It taught the rhythm of the valley: show up, feed people well, and let the meat do the talking.
Full concept
The restaurant
Now The Pit has a full home at 108 Riverside Ave: barbecue, specials, drinks, catering, the Pit Stop, and a room built for regulars, travelers, and hungry neighbors.
What stays the same
Family at the center
The dream has always been bigger than a plate of brisket. It is about building something the kids can be proud of, serving the community, and keeping the fire honest.

Why The Pit Feels Different
It is the mix: Texas-style barbecue, Southern hospitality, a Wyoming town that knows when the smoker is running, and a family that still treats every service like the food truck window is open.
